Doublejump have been working with the amazing people at Hope for Youth NI and Creative Arts and Social Team on a brand new Music video. Over the last few months over 30 young people have been creating an original song to help highlight issues in teenage mental health. These amazing kids have worked tirelessly to push these issues into the spotlight using only their creativity and talents. Combining acting, singing and musicality they have created a stunning and emotional video.
The theme of the video was that your words can hurt - be careful of what you say and be aware of how it may affect others. It tells the story of two rival schools from different backgrounds who are forced to interact on a school trip. Initially using their mobile phones to pass judgment on their counterparts they slowly learn that once you get to know someone your judgments may have been wrong. The impact of words can hurt but also heal. The video is intended as an eye opener for those who are perhaps engaged in this type of behaviour to stop and think about their actions.
Doublejump helped direct and shoot the video with the direction of Rois Kelly-Lynch from Muchado stage school. We are delighted to be involved with such a genuinely creative and inspiring approach to tackling a problem that affects so many.
